Mixing mobile, bricks-and-mortar and everything in between

 

E-commerce is now a regular fixture in people’s purchasing habits – and continues to show demonstrable growth on mobile devices. Recent research we conducted found that, across Europe, 54% of consumers are regularly using a mobile device to pay for a range of products and services, whether that’s buying takeaways or booking holidays.

 

Currently, a fifth (20%) of total spending processed by Visa across European markets is via an e-commerce channel. At present, many people are leaving the mobile environment to complete transactions on another device such as a laptop. However, we predict that, by 2020, 50% of our transactions will be made using some kind of mobile device, be that tablet or phone.
